Wizard101 BlogHousing tutorials, guides, reviews, and more
|
Hey Everyone! I've been wanting to talk about this for a long time but just never got around to it. Between the spring update, school, homework, homework, and homework, I'e never had time to talk about something different from Wizard101 for a change. Are you curious how I run my blog(s)? Are you wanting to start a blog? Here, I'm providing some basic tips and my humble opinions. But, the best tip anyone can give is do what floats your spiral! ;) Some Q&A1. What's the easiest blogging software?
To be honest, I went about through 10 different website/blog makers, and this one (Weebly) was by far the easiest. I'm a type person who can self-teach myself technology as long as its not overwhelming with too many settings and such. Weebly was just the place for that! I read a lot of reviews saying it was good and easy to use, so I went with it. I made my site in about 2 weeks of summer days (roughly 3 hours a day). For my first time, that's really good. I tried Blogger, but it was confusing. I know a lot of people manage it but it's really not for me. I was going to use it for my Pirate101 site for a change but nah... Weebly is my go-to. 2. What's the hardest part of Weebly? Sometimes it freezes or lags (especially when inserting photos or YouTube videos; that's why I sometimes just leave a link) if I have W101 running at the same time but that's pretty reasonable. I usually just take screenshots, log off, then post anyways. Also, I had to find out what all the post options and side details and blog sidebar and all that stuff was in the beginning. 3. What's the hardest part of blogging? Multiple things. Remembering to blog on time - school and homework can get pretty hectic! I get home a lot later (close 2 hours) than last school year. From there, I immediately eat dinner and then off to my long study nights and worksheets! Finding things to blog about - I'm not a person who will just leave you hanging; I'm determined to find something to blog about. It's not always easy. In those periods of time when there are holidays, Kingsisle as well as other fansites are busy. There are those times when no updates are near and everyone is just crazy busy. I get most of my inspiration from other sites or just thinking about something randomly. That's my creative side ;) Making sure I include everything - When I blog, I'm time-scrunched and I have to hurry and type/screenshot pretty fast. I usually don't see typos right away or realize I forgot to underline or bold something or add a pic. Most of the time, I don't even go back and re-read. It's a pain to go back and edit but... That's literally how my life is! 4. Why do I blog? I talk about this more often than not, but it should really be in here! I do it for: The community - With Wizard101 becoming more and more complex, you guys are more on the search for guides and some websites to read about your favorite game! Even if I am not sharing a guide, I'm sharing my love for W101 and I hope I have helped spread it or helped you introduce it to people in your real life. Myself - This helps me calm down, relax, and learn so so much. I've met friends and got to have some chats with other people. It is just such a great benefit to me and I am very thankful that I found the KI/gaming world. Friends and family - My Wizard101 friends as well read this blog, and it's a way for us to memoralize our fun times. In many of my posts they were there behind the scenes of the screenshots! Kudos to you guys and gals! That's about it. I may make a number 2... what do you guys think? Cya around the spiral :D - Allison D
