Wizard101 BlogHousing tutorials, guides, reviews, and more
|
Hey Everyone! I've been super busy lately and not really felt like doing posts. Yesterday I went back to school shopping (yes, this early. I go back July 31st) and out to eat, and today I'm going to a job fair and out to eat. On Wednesday, I'm going clothes shopping for school. I got some really nice locker supplies! I love it! The theme is going to be mint green and pale pastel pink! My new favorite colors! Yay! Ok, enough about me, since nobody really cares. XD This post is about Wizard101 "photography." Screenshotting is actually much harder than it looks. You have to snap it that second or else you'll miss the photo opportunity, much like real life. You can't have little health wisps in the background or else they draw all the attention. Photos can also turn up blurry if you're moving too fast. So, it's difficult. I spend just as much time writing the posts as I do screenshotting usually (except for guides). Writing a post takes 45 minutes to one hour and screenshotting, editing screenshots, renaming photos, etc takes 30 minutes. That's another reason why I've been behind! This picture was in Grizzleheim. I didn't even think about taking it until I was looking through my backpack selling (before I went inside the dungeon behind me) and saw my owl mount which I completely forgot about. I used a nice party outfit that was already sitting in my backpack, equipped it, get the right angle, press the prtsc button, and snap! Picture done! This isn't all, though. I then go into my documents -> Wizard101 folder (where your screenshots are saved) and rename the picture to something with a parantheses. Why I use parantheses is so the picture is at the top and I don't have to scroll far. Parantheses are also my key to let me know that I wanna do a blog post with that picture. For these posts I used the name (wizard101-photography) and for the others I did (wizard101-photography 1), (wizard101-photography 2) etc. I've gone up to 55 before in one ( category. That was literally a nightmare. Next, I crop out my text box, chat menu, friends list, and all that stuff. I always go as far as I can without reaching the things I do not want in it. That's how I made this pic so long, which also made it very nice and pleasing. I quickly fell in love with this picture. This photo basically shows you do not have to have your wizard on a mount or facing the camera to have nice photography results. How I did this was putting on a black elegant outfit (though I have no clue where my elegant boots went, so I used the ones I was already wearing which to my luck, matched) and then waiting for your character to do that thing when they are still. Mine was looking at its spear. My character with a bow pretends to shoot an arrow. I bet you've seen your char do this multiple times. I waited patiently for the right moment, then snap! Presto! :D A great, creepy picture. With this creepy picture, I had trouble with angles. If I was next to the death school (this is Nightside, btw) you could see a clear, blue sky in the background. I don't know if it's just me but that doesn't scream scary. Where in my picture, positioned at the right angle, I barely miss the view of the blue sky. It even looks like to me that my character possibly murdered whoever is in this Gravestone. Looking at it, you're constantly wondering "who is this wizard?" "is the wizard good or bad?" "who did they murder?" "did they even murder anyone?" etc. THAT spells good Wizard101 photography :) Hope you enjoyed! This was a lot of fun to write! <3 ~ Allison

Good post! Hope your school year is going well. (Yes, we care) Some notes about screenshots: Push ctrl-G to clear the screen and use snipping tool (most windows computers have it) to take the perfect shot. :)
