Hey Everyone! I still often see people questioning monstrology about what is it, what it's good for, and etc. Luckily for you, I've been very busy with this new update! Hopefully now you can understand it a bit better and learn why I love it! Enjoy this monstrology tour of my life as a monstrologist and a few good starter tips and tricks! I recommend starting out with basic monsters, and then going further. This is what I did: 1) Go for lost souls-- create a few treasure cards and/or house guests (by defeating a monster multiple times you keep getting more monstrology xp) 2) Go for skeletal corsairs-- create a few treasure cards and/or house guests 3) Go for Lady Blackhope-- create a house guest and/or treasure card 4) Go for Rattlebones-- create a house guest and/or treasure card 5) Branch out! Go for more bosses in multiple areas! I find they give you more xp. A few I did were Foulgaze, Melweena Smite, and Sergeant Skullsplitter. You can also go for mobs if you please like field guards, rotting fodders, and scarlet screamers. 6) Try out Sunken City. It's a dungeon but there are multiple monsters there that can't be obtained anywhere else. These are: wrailing wraith, wandering specter, Norton, Paulson, and Grubb. Big tip to lower level wizards! Don't aim too high because that is a boss/mob you really want to collect animus from! You'll get there eventually! First of all, get a separate deck for monstrology IF the monsters you are fighting are below your questing level (say you are in Azteca like me going to Unicorn Way... I'd totally say new deck!) You can rename it using the naming button in the top left corner. I am naming this "Wizard City Monster Deck" due to I am going to Unicorn Way and this is for monstrology purposes. Buy any size deck necessary! This is my deck set-up for now. Later on I'll add blades and traps. If you're using the test realm, buy the triple animus elixir! So helpful and saves time! Not much either! You can buy a lot with your test crowns! Extracting lost soul essence! Sorry for the black scribble... the test realm was very noisy haha! My position XD And my dog... I love all the funny captions! These are the costs for a treasure card and a house guest for lost soul. I created a tc! Purely for testing, as this would never be of much use in Azteca! :P Lady Blackhope and her skeletal corsair! This is an easy way to go for both at the same time rather than doing skeletal corsair mobs and then Lady Blackhope. Victory! :D Blachope's monstrology page! You need 20 animus and 1000 gold for a summon card and 30 animus and 2500 gold for a house guest. After a little more farming, I went back to my house. I am going to redecorate this whole house but, I will still set up this area the same! Here is where I have my Rattlebone's duels and trophies. And back behind all that is the famous monstrodome! Let me just say this place is pretty cool! I didn't do much in the monstrodome yet, but Blaze Lifehammer has a great video below! 4 Malistaires! :o The next day I went to Foulgaze! He and his field guard were a small bit of a pain though because the guard put a 80% myth shield on Foulgaze! Argh! I did a feint, but it still didn't do very much and just made my humungofrog a normal hit... After I had enough animus for a Foulgaze minion, I quickly created it and traveled to my next destination: Melweena Smite! Melweena is a banshee in Firecat Alley that is usually forgotten, but honestly she's cool! Her background was as a public school teacher and Mrs. Smite (or Miss, who knows!) can't stop teaching wizards! :P Now here's someone different from the previous 2: Seargent Skullsplitter! Easy, cool boss who's a better version of a skeletal corsair. So obviously, he needs a house guest too! Haha he's in for it! ;) If you want to find some uncommon monsters, go to Sunken City! I came across wailing wraiths, wandering specters, and Paulson! Sadly I couldn't finish the whole dungeon because my internet went out in the middle lol. I decided to not try until later, as it was obvious my wifi didn't want to cooperate. Also, I was upset, too, because I wasn't far from Grubb! Hmph. Well, I still had a great experience! It was nice to go here again after thousands of years. My by far favorite creatures were the wailing wraiths. Allow me to tell some storytelling... :) This is the only screenshot I got of these banshees, but I still remember them by it! So, I was a little bored and started making up some little stories. The wailing wraiths's description in the tome says they want to make wizards feel as miserable as they are. It felt like that actually happened! The first two banshees both put death traps on me, while the third one passed. Then, the first (I call this one pink just because it has a pink light when you are choosing who to put a spell on. In no way what I said makes sense but if you try Sunken City you'll see!) did a dark fairy, which did not much damage but still haha. Red (second one) did a fire elf.... bahh. :P But then the third fizzled. Oh poor Third. Poor poor Third. Third doesn't have a color name... Third the number just sticks When the battle ended, I saw that I had acquired a sundae. Now, why would a banshee give me a sundae? Something tells me it was Third. Third is actually a nice wailing wraith! Once monstrology is live, I will collect more animus so Third and her beloved (but mean) sisters can live in my house! :D It'll bring back fun memories :) Paulson!!! :D And his mean wailing wraiths. Apparently they are upset I defeated the trio of Red, Pink, and Third. Only way to make them happy is to create house guests of them too... *sigh* Yay! Good girl, Miss Cookie! :D ;) Unhappy undead in this tower! The annoying frost beetles! Bahaha! How much joy a fizzle can bring you!! Am I right, wizards? :D The second after I took this lovely unicorn screenshot that was casted by Miss Cookie, my internet went out. :( I was enjoying the dungeon, which is something I never imagined. I mean, who loves dungeons?
Anyway, I recommend to anyone to go to SC and collect some animus! It really helps your monstrology gain ranks! See you around! ~Ali <3
