Hey Everyone, I've realized since mid December that wizards are starting to leave Wizard101. They are maxed out, done Polaris, been a player forever, and are kind of over the game. They don't see why it's worth to have membership or even continue getting on. The Commons aren't as full as old times, and lots of my friends on W101 are leaving, and most of them for good. There still are tons of wizards playing, but not as many. So I've got some solutions for a some of you out there planning to leave. Ten things to keep you occupied for a little while longer on Wizard101 when you are without membership. Put them into rotation, and you might find yourself still playing in May. Note: These are in no particular order, they are just random. Wizardly HobbiesHouse Decorating, Touring, & GlitchingYou always can house decorate and make cool glitches in your house. The only thing it costs is your time and effort. You can also tour houses, rate them, and find inspiration at the same time! Here at my blog, I provide house glitches and tours to help you for something like this! Fishing Tournaments, Catch of The Day, and Fishing in HousesThere was a update only a few months ago that brought fishing tournaments, catch of the day, and fish in houses! Even if you don't have a house with fish in it, you can simply go for tournaments or catch of the day! I like to try to meet the fish expectations and enter it in the tournaments! And, get lots of gold through catch of the day! For more info, read my November Test Realm blog post and scroll down to the area about the fishing updates: Back to the Test Realm - Seeing what's new EXCELLENT resource: a post by Swordroll about all the fish found in houses: their location, rank, xp, AND tank size! http://www.swordroll.com/2015/10/wizard101-house-fishing-guide.html And you can always go to one of my mentioned favorites, The Fish Locator Table: http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki/Basic:FishLocatorTable#axzz40MTyXNRb GardeningGardening is another Wizard101 hobby I enjoy: gardening! This requires your time and lots of patience. If you have plants just sitting in your inventory (or 100 like I do in my bank lol) you can begin using them now. They look cute in your house, especially in pots. Put gardening into your rotation and it will be a blast! (I don't have time for gardening anymore, but I'm starting it back soon :) Iridian Willowglen has a new fun tutorial on how to "scrunch plants:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zz04NmQgNXg CraftingI also like crafting, even though higher up the recipes are super difficult. But, how would you feel if you crafted your own mount? Maybe the five boxes pogo stick? Or how about that carousel housing item? Or even a house (my dream)! If you commit time, gold, and effort towards crafting, you could be an ultimate master of it! Pet Training & DerbyPet training is another common hobby for wizards. I switch up the games I go to every so often: 4 games of dance, 6 maze (my favorite), 2 pet cannon, etc. It's worth it at the end when I get a good trait. Plus, there is practice derby, which is also fun. Even though you can't do ranked, it is pretty cool still, same concept. View this post by me from December on how to step by step play the maze game: Master Guide - Pet Maze Game Having FunPartying With Your FriendsHere is something fun and free -- parties! Gauntlet party? Hotel party? Pool party? The possibilities are endlesss! You can throw a party every week for a year and still not have even done every type of party. You can also go to other friends' parties and have fun there! Castle GamesWhenever I got bored during the summer, I jumped onto Wizard101 and went to the public castle games. Lots of fun when there are millions of people and when you don't know how to navigate around the house lol. My favorite is Wildfire Tag, and it will always be a part of my Wizard101 life ;) FarmingA HUGE part of our wizard lives is farming, which many do daily. I love farming and getting awesome gear, pets, and mounts. Many of my favorite things I have gotten through farming. Farming takes lots of determination, time, and effort. It's all up to you what is worth farming for. Buying Land I read a post today by the Duelist101 Community about buying areas with leftover Crowns that you can farm in. It's a great self splanitory guide. If I were to do it, I'd choose The Atheneum, Waterworks, and Mirror Lake. Find this guide here (copy and paste the link): http://www.duelist101.com/other-articles/areas-to-buy-without-membership/ Well, there you go. A guide that will hopefully convince you to stay a little while longer on Wizard101. And also a reminder of what you can do for current players. Cya later :) ~ Ali <3

Hey Everyone, I see lots of low levels and new players with just a wand and a deck. It is usually because they either don't have gold or don't know how to use it wisely. Well, here is a mini lesson on a good way how to get gold. Sierra's Gold ExperienceOn my funny names account, Sierra Mist (I) basically spent all my gold on dying. I had 30 gold and used it all up. I could've bought a new hat or some boots with it. To prevent this, I go through the Commons, Shopping District, and Olde Town searching for reagents in the realm Leprechaun. To find realms click esc then click on the tab with the picture of two black ball looking things. Here is what I found one day when I was only searching for 10 minutes. In the shopping district, you can squeeze into the gap of the two buildings on the far end by the water fountain called "Elik's Edge." From only 10 minutes of looking around I made 406 gold. I originally had 3. (This is at the Bazaar in Olde Town where you sell stuff). Using it WiselyNow that you have the gold, you are probably wondering "what should I use it for?" From mine, I bought Sierra a hat, boots, wand, amulet, athame, and ring. I still have 224 gold leftover. When you buy gear, make sure it is good for you and your school. You don't want to buy a balance damage hat but your main school is fire and your secondary is myth. Then, it won't come in handy. Sierra has: (this picture is on the Character page. Press the C key to get here. Her secondary will be myth, so she has 2 damage to it and her main school is life so she has 1 damage to it as well. She has high health and high mana for a level 2, which is good :D
Then, I dyed my outfit :) Make sure when you do things that will not benefit your character stats, it doesn't take all of your gold. It is okay to do something like housing, but make sure you don't spend a lot of gold on it. Allison should read this post XD Cya! ~ Ali <3 |
